Principal's Message

Welcome To Colonial High School!

Hector Maestre

Thank you for visiting the Colonial High School website. We are very proud of what was achieved in the 2020-2021 school year and although school grades are not available this year due to COVID-19, we look forward to empowering pathways of success for our Grenadiers into 2022!

I am excited to continue to lead a dedicated and expert leadership team and staff focused on student achievement. The Colonial community is extremely supportive, and we invite all of our community and families to be an active part of our school.

This site has been designed to provide you with important information about our school. We hope that our website will continue to keep you involved by providing the necessary information about academics, performances, upcoming events, athletics, and all the other happenings at Colonial High School.

We have implemented a new safety measure on campus during arrival and dismissal. We now have a car decal system for car riders. If you drop-off and/or pick-up a student at Colonial High School, you will need to register your vehicle and pick up a rearview mirror hang tag on campus.  To register for your hang tag, go to

The registration will be connected to your student’s ID number at school. When the form is submitted, you will be given a rearview mirror hang tag which indicates to school administration and our School Resource Officers that you are authorized to be on our campus to pick up or drop off your student.

We anticipate the hang tag distribution to begin on January 19.

Vehicles will no longer be allowed on campus at arrival or dismissal without a visible hangtag displayed on their vehicle.

We encourage you to complete the form as soon as possible.  Please know that the safety of students and staff is our top priority which is why we are implementing this new procedure.

On Monday, January 24,, we will be on a modified bell schedule for a countrywide infrastructure test.  All students will do this during  4th period block.

The Spring Sports season is about to get underway.  If your student is interested in joining water polo, weightlifting, tennis, softball, baseball, lacrosse, track and field, flag football, volleyball, or beach volleyball, they can complete the Spring Sports interest form  at their OCPS Google account and the coach will reach out to them with tryout information.

Thank You,
Hector Maestre, Ed.D.
