Principal's Message

Welcome To Colonial High School!

Colonial High School faculty and staff would like to take this opportunity to wish our community the best during Hurricane Ian recovery.  Our school sustained minor damage, and we happily welcomed back students and staff on Tuesday, October 4th.

It is a wonderful privilege to return to Colonial High School as your new principal. For the past four years I have served as the principal of Roberto Clemente Middle School. However, prior to that experience, I had served here at Colonial as an Assistant Principal.

Colonial High School may potentially be impacted by rezoning.  There is a workshop on October 18 at 4:30 pm at the Ronald Blocker Educational Leadership.  For additional input, please consider filling out this Community Input Survey Click here.

As you may already know, Colonial High School has enjoyed many successes over the past several years on both the academic front and in multiple extracurricular areas. We plan on building upon that momentum this school year and beyond. Of course, I realize a major key to additional future success is community involvement, which is a key part to our 2022-2023 plans.

we have announced our Teachers of the Year and Support Persons of the Year (one of each for both Colonial campuses). Congratulations to Ms. Adams (Teacher of the Year - Main Campus), Ms. Pineiro (Support Person of the Year - Main Campus), Ms. Marshall (Teacher of the Year - Freshman Campus), and Ms. Olivera (Support Person of the Year - Freshman Campus). Determined by direct input from their peers, this is a major career achievement and we are all very proud of their recognitions. If you happen to see any of these incredible professionals this month, please take a quick moment to congratulate them on their success. These four represent one of our greatest strengths at Colonial High School — our highly trained and extremely dedicated staff!

Supervision for students will begin at 6:30 am. Please be patient as we adjust our routines and traffic patterns to accommodate all forms of transportation during the first week of school. Remember school starts at 7:10 am at the ninth grade center and 7:20 am on the main campus.

Thank you,
Betzabeth Reussow
